The Rose Valley is a small famous wine-growing region located in an area in between the Balkan Mountains and Sredna Gorna Mountains. The surrounded position by mountains keeps the region protected from extreme cold and hot temperatures which are usual for Bulgaria. The name of the region originates from the fact that this valley is the main rose growing and rose oil production area in the country with long traditions. The Rose Valley is recognised for fresh and crisp white wines, excellent rosés and fruit-forward, cooler-climate red wines. Some of the best white wines in the country are made here from the aromatic Muscat, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling and the red Pamid, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. A truly unique region which needs to be visited.
